We actually had Christmas Jammies for all the kids. We didn't buy any of them though. Our wonderful 70-something neighbor (who just lost her husband to cancer) gave them to us (along with a dress for Samantha and outfit for each of the boys!).
Aren't they adorable?
We tried to act out the nativity. We got as far as getting most of us in costume, but actually getting the boys to act it out as it was being read was just a bit too much. So, my Dad just read it while we all listened "in character."
After the kiddos went to bed we watched The Nativity Story. Although very different from movies done by the LDS church, I actually really enjoyed this. I found it very touching and though provoking. They did take a lot of creative license as to how the birth of the Savior affected Mary and Joseph, but that is part of what I liked. I guess I've never really thought much about how they would have felt...how incredibly awesome an overwhelming such a responsibility must have been, especially at such a young age. I definately left with a stronger testimony of what an incredible miracle the Savior's birth was.
You left out the part where Cory thought the beard was supposed to cover his head....so funny!
