We spent Christmas with my parents and little sister, Christa this year. My two brothers & family were with their in-laws. It was actually really nice. I especially enjoyed the time I got to spend each night just talking with my sister. She is an amazing person. She is almost 7 years younger than me though, so it has only been in the last few years that we have really developed that adult to adult relationship. And often when we've been together the last few years there have been a bunch of other people around. So, it was nice to have some time with just her...especially since she will be leaving on a mission soon.
Two years ago, she spent Christmas in Equador. I could go on forever about all the amazing things she did there, but one tradition she brought home was to make breakfast for all of us the morning of Christmas Eve. Well, this year, she had to work on Christmas eve, so she had to get up extra early to do it, but she kept the tradition. We all woke up to the smell of a very tasty breakfast on Christmas Eve morning:
The boys also got to play in the snow for the first time ever on Christmas eve. Here is Noah's reaction after touching it for the first time:
Grumpa offered to pull them around on a sled, but they weren't too sure they liked that idea. They kept saying "all done...more...all done...all done...more." They just weren't quite sure what to think of it.
They did, however, enjoy throwing the snow:
And stomping in it with Daddy:
Did Krista hear yet about her call to serve? That is so fun to see the kids experience the snow for the first time. Did you get any video?
