The boys were pretty funny. They don't eat candy. In fact, I don't even think they knew what it was (however, they LOVE cookies and Icecream!). I tried to get them excited about the experience by telling them we were going to get little cookies...but I still don't think they understood the concept. They just stared at everyone like they were crazy (I guess everyone does look a little crazy on Halloween), and gave me a shocked look every time someone put something in their buckets. The one piece of candy they did recognize was a sucker b/c they get those at the Dr office, so once they got one of those, they started to get a little more excited and a little more willing to hold their buckets up. I would tell them everytime to say "trick or treat." Noah never said it, but Micah would wisper it every time. It was so funny.
Also, up until Halloween, I couldn't really get Micah to wear his Alligator costume (made by Devin and Melissa, my brother and his wife), and I couldn't get Noah to take his Lion costume off. This day was the opposite though. Noah lasted with his tcostume on for about 1 min, but Micah LOVED his. He WOULD NOT take his off, no matter how hard it was for him to see. Even once we got the hat off and were back at our friend's house for dinner, he refused to take the alligator hands off. Too cute!

We didn't do a traditional pupkin carving. I dont' really enjoy it, so I'll wait until my kids are old enough to request it/help. Instead we did this:

It was fun, and easier for the kids to participate.
Thank you for this adorable post. They are so cute in their costumes!!!! What was the pumpkin thing? Hoods or something? I can't tell what that was.
