I'm glad we are keeping it up though b/c the boys remember. As soon as I mentioned to Micah and we were going on a date, he immediately started talking about dogs and cats and juice (which is what we did last time WAY back in early July). He was SUPER excited. This time we went to the pet store this time and he had a blast. His favorite part was waving the little toy for/playing with the cats. He went back about 5 times. And he was so mesmerized by the fish that I was actually tempted to buy one! I resisted the temptation when the girl told me that although the fish only cost $0.17, all the supplies would be around $100!! Ouch!
Then we headed over to McDonalds and got him a Happy Meal. He even got a mini ice cream cone! Yea for no more milk allergy!
It was a lot of fun. I think I almost need these dates more than they do. With all three of them, I feel like the majority of my days is just a chaotic stream of putting out one "fire" or another, but spending time with them one on one helps me recognize their individual personalities, needs, talents etc. I absolutely love being able to just focus on one child for a couple of hours.
I think he had a great time as well. It isn't very often that any of my children get my undivided attention for very long. He kept saying "Micah love Mommy & Mommy love Micah" during the whole date.

Pet Co is the best free activity isn't it? Those pictures are so cute. I'm glad you are having so much fun on your dates. Good times!
ReplyDeleteHow sweet is that....I am a believer in a little one on one time. You are right it is a totally differnt feeling when it is just the two of you and they know it to. Way to go!
