BIG BOY BEDS!

The boys have graduated to big boy beds! We decided we wanted to make the transition long before the baby got here since that transition will be tough enough. So, we found a good deal on some mattresses last week and decided to give it a go. I called my sister-in-law Kristy for some advice since she has done this multiple times and just did so with her son a few weeks ago. (she is due a few weeks before me and her son is a couple months older than the boys).

So, we took everything out of their rooms except for their beds and binkies. We completely put their cribs away, so there was no turning back and gave it a go.

We set everything up just shortly before bedtime and they were SUPER excited. Micah kept saying "Bg bb be" (Big Boy Bed) while pointing to his bed. They kept jumping on them and crawling back and forth between the two giggling. It was pretty cute.

Bedtime went fine at first...the usual scriptures, prayers and kisses, mixed with a bit of tantrum. But as we started to leave they both got on their beds, grabbed a binky and snuggled up with their blankets...on separate beds. We thought, awesome!

THat lasted for about 10 seconds. Then there was some pretty upset crying for about 5 min, with both boys a the door. Cory went in after a few minutes to put them back in their beds. Poor Noah was crouched in the corner of the closet, crying and Micah was justing sitting on his bed (crying as well). They both calmed down pretty quick though and Cory got them back in bed. They cried again when he left, but not as hard, and it turned to laughter within a few minutes. They laughed, played, whined, knocked on the door, and threw their binkies at each other for about an hour, and then all was silent. We waited another 20 minutes or so, then went in to check on them and found this:

SO SWEET! We just had to take a picture, b/c it was just to adorable....for all the fighting, they really do love each other!

  2. That is so sweet! I have the girls in a queen bed together and I think that helped them adjust (even though they were in separate cribs) they still are snuggled together every morning!
Your boys are getting so big!
