The boys love story time. All I have to say is: "Do you want a story?" and they both crawl as fast as they can over to the book tub. Then, when I am about halfway through the 1st book, one of them is handing me another. It's pretty cute.
There are two books that we read quite often. "Mr Brown Can Moo," and "Are You My Mother?" Micah has been really fun to watch lately. I realized yesterday that he knows what is coming next in the book. This will probably make more sense to those of you who have read the book, but I'll tell you anyway.
During "Mr Brown, " I'll be reading about the bee saying "Buzz," and he is already putting his finger in his mouth to make the cork popping sound (the next page), and as soon as he is finished with that, he will make the "horse feet" sign (the next page), then he "hoos" like an owl, and then rocks back and forth like a ticking clock, then "knocks" on the nearest book, falls over like lighting struck him and then whispers like a butterfly. He does the same thing for "Are You My Mother." It is so cute to watch. He has done all those things with me as I read the books for a while now, but he has just started doing them right before I get to the page. Pretty smart, huh?

Very smart! I hope I can read them some stories this weekend too. That's what Granna has been good at.

ReplyDeleteI love it, they are so dang smart. My parents never read to me so I find it so important to change the trend with my own, props to you for reading to them early mommy they will love you for it!
