Spaghetti & Naked

My parents took us to Olive Garden while they were here. Cory and I used to eat there all the time, but it's been a while...like since before we had kids. So, it was a very nice treat. The boys had a great time eating their spaghetti. I usually cut up their noodles at home, so this was a whole new experience for them.

We had dressed Samantha in her really cute dress (see post below) that Chelsea gave us, since we were expecting to get some pictures. I was holding her, and she was wrapped in a blanket since it was a bit chilly with the AC. I was patting her backside and thought I had gotten some Alfredo sauce on my hand as the blanket felt a bit sticky. After a few minutes though, it just got more sticky. So, I turned her over and realized that she had leaked poo ALL OVER. So, Cory took her to the bathroom to change her. Her dress was no longer wear-able, and I (silly, I know) had forgotten to bring a change of clothes, so Cory brought her back to the table wrapped in the breastfeeding cover. Later, we had to completely unwrap her to get her in her carseat. So, yes, I took my 2 week old daughter to Olive Garden naked....

I prefer the term "au natural"...she's GLORIOUS!
Love those poo stories -- keep them coming! We could make a collection and get it published!

How do you find the time to update your blog? I am glad you do because it's fun reading about your family. Samantha is a beautiful girl. Thanks for all the pictures and posts.

That's hilarious. It's like I've always said... "If the world were more comfortable with nudity, it would be a MUCH BETTER place!" Thank you for taking my cause to the patrons of Olive Garden; I'm sure they got bright smiles on their faces to see cute Samantha in all her bare-skinned glory! Your pictures and stories are so fun to catch up on! We miss you guys and can't wait to see you soon! PLUS we live closer now (I think). :)

Us:

Cory & I met at school (BYU) in Aug 2002, began dating in July 2004 and were married Jan of 2005. We lived in Orem, UT while Cory finished his Bachelors, and then moved to San Diego (while 7 mo pregnant with twins) in July of 2007 for Cory to begin law school. We welcomed Micah and Noah to our family in Sept 2007. In July 2008, we moved to beautiful Carlsbad, CA which is where we live now. Samantha Dawn joined us in July 2009. Cory graduated from law school in May 2010 and is now working as a Regulatory Affairs Specialist for Zimmer Dental here in Carlsbad. He loves it. Misty started a business as a Shelf Reliance consultant in December 2010 and is doing very well and enjoying helping others become more self reliant. Hanna Catherine joined us in Jan 2011 which makes four kids in just over three years! We love our family and have lots of fun together. Our kids keep us busy and happy.

The Funnies:

2/20/11:
While sitting on the playroom floor, Granna and Micah have the following conversation:
Granna: Are you in Nursery or Primary?
Micah: I'm in my house!

Micah was eating Nachos for dinner tonight. He said: "I love guacamole. Here is the guac and over there is the mole."

2/25/11:
The following conversation took place during breakfast:
Noah: Mom, I have a hypothesis
Mom: Oh, really? (where did he learn that word?) What is it?
Noah: Honey Nut Cheerios are really gross. I will now need a BIG bowl to test my hypothesis.

3/1/11:
I've been sick recently, so Cory reminded Noah before family prayer tonight to pray that Mommy's sick bugs would go away. This is what he said in his prayer: "Please bless that Mommy can take a shower so that she won't be sick anymore."

3/8/11:
Micah has a toy that asks him questions and then records his answers. I think the following two were a bit telling:
Toy: Pretend you're a Daddy. What would you say?
Micah: Micah, watch out! That's a bee!
Toy: Pretend you're a Mommy. What would you say?
Micah: Can you do me a big favor?

3/25/11:
Micah wanted to show Nanna all his tricks. After he had showed her a few (like jumping off the stairs and doing a somersault) the following conversation took place:
Nanna: WOW! That is awesome. I remember when the only tricks you could do were to sleep, eat, and poop.
Micah: I can still do those tricks Nanna. I make brown poopies.

3/29/11:
Micah said this while getting ready for bed tonight:
"Boys come from Daddy's tummies. Girls come from Mommy's tummies. Boys are bigger. That is why Daddies have big tummies."

4/23/11: Noah said: "Mom, the potty likes to eat peepee and poo!"

7/26/11:
Cut my finger while making dinner tonight. Noah was tonight designated "helper," so he saw it happen. When he saw blood he said: "Oh no, I'm going to have to get a new Mommy now!"

9/1/11:
Cory: Who is going to say the prayer?
Noah: Nobody!
Cory: I don't know anyone named "Nobody." Oh, wait, I know a NOAHbuddy
Noah: (VERY angry) NO DAD! I'm not a butt! Don't call me a butt!

Micah: Mom, what does Budiget mean?
Me: I've never heard that word, where did you hear it?
Micah: In the Temple
Me: Really? When?
Micah: When I got married
Me: To who?
Micah: You, when I was one.

9/6/11:
Me: It sure is hot today.
Noah: Yeah, I'm sh*tting (yes, the 4 letter word)
Me: WHAT?!
Noah: sh*tting, you know, I'm all stinky and drippy.

9/12/11: I just found Samantha on the toilet yelling: "Come out pee pee, come out!"

10/22/11: Noah turns to me during our "date" and says: "Mom, I'm nocturnal. Just like a bat. I can see at night."

During the same date while discussing what he wanted for Christmas, Noah said: "Mom, your just not as cool as Santa, but it's okay, I still love you."

11/12/11
I asked the boys what we should get Nanna and Grumpa for Christmas:

Micah: We should decorate their house with yummy candy canes
Noah: Let's give them a movie. One of ours, that I don't like.

12/10/11:

I asked Noah if he got his "cuteness" from Mommy or Daddy and he said: "Neither, I got it from Jesus!"

3/15/12:
Noah and I were working in the garden and I noticed that something had eaten all but 2 of our onions. I said: "Oh on, an animal ate all of our onions." I was VERY sad and disappointed as I had JUST put up a fence the day before to stop that. Without even looking at the onions, Noah said: "Mom, I know what we need to do. We need to pray." I said: "Okay, help me remember during family prayer tonight. He said: "No, we need to do it NOW." So, we went inside and said a prayer for our garden. We walked back outside and Noah looked at the onions and saw the remaining two. He got all excited and said: "Mom, look! Heavenly Father already made 2 onions grow back!"

3/17/12
Noah WOULD NOT go to the bathroom today until I wiped all the Leprechaun footprints off the mirror. He said it scared him that they could walk sideways.

3/17/12
Micah came into the living room today and asked if I knew how to spell "umbrella." I said I did and asked if he knew how. He said "yep: u-m-b-r-e-l-l-a, and I can also spell xylophone. x-y-l-o-p-h-o-n-e. Seriously a bit concerned....
