Noah
Weight: 22 lbs 15 oz which puts him in the 50%.
Height: 29 inches: 10%
Head 19 inches: 95%
Height to weight ratio: 95%
How it went:
I was concerned about his height to weight ratio, but the Dr said she isn't concerned b/c he doesn't eat any sweets, juice, or much fat. He pretty much lives on fresh fruit & veggies, oatmeal, toast, cream of wheat, crackers, cheerios, and water. He loves his Soy milk...even the unflavored kind. (We accidently started out with the vanilla flavored kind...oops) He does, however, eat a TON. A typical breakfast: (1) A full bowl of cream of wheat, (2) A piece of toast, (3) A banana, (4) A cup of some other fruit! Does that seem like a lot to anyone else?!? That is more than I eat! He likes to play while he eats. He puts his food on the ground or the wall, or his hair, or he tries to feed Mommy...that is SUPER fun, let me tell you! He also loves to bang his head on his feeding chair to try and make it rock (how he fell off the counter). He loves having his own fork or spoon and will try very hard to get something on it. Occasionally, he will and then he looks up with a big grin on his face just waiting for praise.
I was also concerned about him not walking (not even interested), but the Dr assured us that 13-14 months is average and that proficient crawlers often walk late...even up to 17 months. She said not to worry until then. I hope it doesn't take that long. Carrying the both of them is getting old.
He has TERRIBLE exzema all over his back/chest. It started about the time he started whole milk, so we switched to Soy about 10 days ago, and it has slowly gotten better. The Dr gave us a sample of a really expensive oil ($170 for a 1 week supply) that she says should help clear it up. The allergy test she had him take will let us know what not to feed him so that hopefully it won't come back.
Random Facts:
He is drinks a bottle of water before his naps/bedtime. It has to be warm or he won't drink it. He loves sippy cups...all of them. He drinks a TON (water during play time/snack time/nap time and soy milk at meals) every day...he goes through about 8 VERY wet diapers daily.
He can sign (and regularly does) the following words: more, milk, water, dog, banana, all done, horse feet (from Mr Brown can moo), cracker, bath, eat, and I think that is all...
He can say the following: Jesus, Mom, Dad
When he wants something, he will point and grunt, then whine, then cry.
He has yet to walk on his own. He will walk holding on to our hands or the couch etc, but anytime we try to get him to walk on his own, he just goes stiff as a board, locks his knees, and falls straight forward with his feet still in the same spot. I think that he thinks "Noah, do you want to walk?" means, "Noah to you want to play that fun falling game?"
He has six teeth and the funniest expressions. He face is SO expressive. He sticks his lips way out and purses them when he is mad or really concentrating. Today, after all I put him through, he WOULD NOT smile at me. He sat there with his pursed lips and his eyes in slits and didn't bat an eye or crack a smile for over 5 min. And I tried EVERYTHING. He loves to smile and does so A LOT. He will blink very slowly and deliberately if you wink at him.
He loves to be outside. He loves playing the piano with Mommy. He loves flying through the air. He plays catch with Dad, but rarely throws the ball. He just crawls over and gives it to you. He loves to give kisses...big sloppy wet ones. He LOVES to kiss the pictures of Jesus and his brother and any other baby he has just met.
He knows what sound a cow makes and where his head, ears, mouth, and toes are. He can turn the CD player on and off and is SUPER proud of that fact.
His laughs hard when: (1) He is stuck in his crib and the mommy monster makes raspberries in his face through the bars (2) He is being tickled (3) He hits Daddy's tummy and it jiggles (4) He give raspberries to Mommy and Daddy (5) Playing the drums on the piano bench with Mommy. (6) He feeds Mommy or Daddy (7) He flies through the air to "get" Daddy or Micah.
He hates: (1) When Mommy holds Micah and not him (2) When Mommy makes dinner instead of holding him. (3) Getting Dressed (4) Having his diaper changed (5) When he accidently locks himself in a room (6) Not being allowed to go outside.
