They actually did pretty well considering this was their first time in a situation like that (there were about 15 kids). I only had to take 2 toys (1 each) away to give back to the child they had just stolen them from. I am really hoping this lasts until Nursery...the not being shy/jumping right in personalities/knowing how to share would be great then! Then we went back to the kids section where there are more toys and fun board books. The boys played some more and we read a few stories. It was a great hour and a half. I think we will do this EVERY week.
Tuesday, we went to the zoo again. This time, the boys were able to get up close and personal with some Orangutans:

Noah thought it was a bit scary and kept trying to back away from the glass (even if I was holding him), but Micah thought it was great. He was right up against the glass and a couple of the Orangutans came right up to him two or three times.
And, we all made a new friend:

Yes, this guy has come to visit right outside the boy's window EVERY morning this week. It's hard to tell in the picture, but just his body is almost the size of a quarter and with his legs extended, he is about the size of a silver dollar. AND...he can JUMP! I've seen him JUMP all the way across his 4 ft web to try and catch a bug. We get a lot of spiders in our house, but I've yet to seen one INSIDE that is that big. I hope I NEVER do. I'm already having nightmares about trying to protect my babies from HUGE spiders with crazy fangs. So, I bought some foggers...anyone used those? Do they work? Are they safe?
I took the boy's footprints again. I took them they day they came home from the hospital, at 6 months and now at 12 months. Isn't it AMAZING how much they have grown!?!? I still look at their feet every day and think how small they are, but they are about twice as big as they were when they were born. Life is such a miracle!

OK...now just some randoms. Both boys love to crawl around with things in their mouths. I guess since they aren't walking (Micah is still just taking 5-6 steps on his own 4-5 times a day), it is there way of getting things from one place to another, but sometimes, they carry the funniest things: Don't you think that would be a bit heavy?

And another "caught in the act" moment:

Seriously, look at Noah's face! Classic. I guess I am going to need to move that stuff a bit higher. Don't want any cut fingers from the tin foil.
Thank you thank you for taking the time to share this post! Very exciting that you have a good library and you are teaching the boys to love to be there;very thankful for that!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe pictures made my day. They are SO cute-the feet, the faces, the strong teeth/jaw!!!!
My cup runneth over. You go girl!!!!
What a mom!
We love going to the library over here too. That's great that you are teaching them to love books.
ReplyDeleteTy loves going to the library. They have the cutest little play area. We have playdates there with all our friends and their kids and it is so much fun.
ReplyDeleteI love cute pictures of naughty babies :-)
ReplyDeleteMy kids were always social and friendly until they were about 17 1/2 months then suddenly stranger anxiety and screaming in nursery. Hope I didn't burst your bubble :-)
They are getting so big! Random Question...are you on facebook?
ReplyDeleteI wish our library had a play area! I took the kids yesterday and Grant just wanted to pull the books off the shelves. We were there for about five minutes. That is all the time I can handle unless I have him strapped into a stroller. I love the pics of your boys!
ReplyDeleteWow, I just caught up on all your posts. Busy little guys. Ella loves to destroy her room too, and she's 3! That's awesome you surprised your mom like that for the reunion. Sounds like you like Carlsbad, that's where we stayed when we were down there. Very nice! Your family looks so happy! Thanks for sharing what you've been up to. (California is trying to pass some crazy things, very sad)
