Strawberries

Poor Micah had a nasty allergic reaction yesterday. We gave him and Noah strawberries for dinner two nights ago and the next day he broke out in hives all over. It looks so painful, we feel so bad. He has been a trooper and has held up well. Not crying too much. Luckily, it doesn't seem to be itchy, just hot and swollen. The doctor told us today to give him Benodryl regularly until it goes down. She said it could take up to four weeks to go away. Poor guy.

  1. That is so sad!! Poor guy. It sucks being the parent in these situations since you want to help, but are so limited in what you can do.

  4. Did you totally freak out when you saw he had hives all over him? I would have flipped out. Poor guy! I hope it doesn't bother him too much. I am definitely scared to give Grant strawberries now!

  6. Whao. Hope he gets better soon! Too bad he's allergic to such a yummy fruit. -That's all Kayla eats.

I think Benadryl should help. When Kayla gets hives, I do the same and it goes down within days. I use it it as well when I get major hives being around cats.
