So, we have been wanting to move for a while. We wanted to get into a more family oriented place (we are close to downtown and there are TONS of homeless people all over that tend to be very interested in our twin boys when I go walking) We wanted carpet (our poor boys have had so many falls on our hard wood floors), we wanted no stairs (again, for the boys...we have 17 now) We wanted something a bit bigger for our growing family/food storage...somewhere we could stay for the next few years. (we are currently in a 950 sq ft 2 Bd) I know...no real reason why we HAD to move, but just a lot of small reasons that added up. We
really felt like it was the right thing for our family. So, we took 3-4 trips to north county (30-40 min away) over the last month or so and spent 4-6 hours each trip looking at places on craigslist. We thought the boys would go crazy, but they actually did pretty well each trip. We had a few freak out sessions, but nothing too unmanageable. I was so proud of them. The picture is actually of Micah in the trunk when we took a break during one of the trips to feed them.
Anyway, we finally found the PERFECT place: 3 Bd 2 Ba, 1400 sq ft, 2 car garage, a small backyard. Across the street from tennis courts/park with slides/swings/pool, all new appliances, all one floor. No one above or below us. 1 mile from the beach/coaster (the train Cory will take to school). All for about the same price as where we are now!
The landlord has been AWESOME so far. He bought all the appliances for us b/c of our good credit (he wasn't planning on it, but said he would do it b/c he really wanted us as tenants), he is also letting us move in now, but not pay until Aug (which is when our contract here is up) So, if anyone wants to come visit San Diego, we will be paying for an empty apartment until Aug...it's yours if you want it!
Cory is backpacking with his Dad right now and won't be back until the 19th, so we will be moving on the 22nd. So, I may not post for a while as I will be spending the next week packing anytime the boys are asleep....yeah, moving stinks, but this move will definitely be worth it!

How fun!! As frustrating as moving can be, how fun to be getting a bigger/better place! Can't wait to see pictures!

ReplyDeleteI know what you mean. We're moving this weekend too. And now we've had a house for a year we have even more stuff, i.e. washer, dryer, lawn mower, yard tools, etc., etc. Not fun. I haven't figured out how to do the two pictures side by side like that. I need your help!

ReplyDeleteDid they find a renter for your place?? We are moving outta our place in the end of august?? We need a cheaper place to rent! How can you do it whiel Cory is still in school?? I feel like we are barley making it and you guys get into a house? I need someone to give me a lesson where to find these places? Jelouse! How much will the coaster be? and how long will it take to get to school? Can you tell I have been looking for a new place! I wanna call you and ask you all this stuff if you don't mind. I'm really having a hard time finding somewhere!
