Like the boy who got up early to milk the cows...

Last night was the BEST NIGHT EVER! My mother in law (Lori) is here for the weekend. When she is here, she sleep on our Hide-a-bed in the living room (I know, terrible, but we just don't have anywhere else...) So, she ends up hearing the boys all night. I usually actually sleep on the hide-a-bed and close the bedroom door so that Cory can sleep at night. I listen for the boys and take care of them during the night. Anyway, back to last night...Lori slept in the living room and closed our bedroom door so we couldn't hear the boys. She took care of them all night and when it was time for them to eat, she heated up bottles and fed them. THEY DRANK FORMULA!!!!! AMAZING!!!! They drank it up, went right back down and slept great until this morning. I SLEPT THE WHOLE NIGHT THROUGH! That is the first time since they were born 6 1/2 mo ago. It was absolutely wonderful. She said she felt like the little boy who got up early to milk the cows she was so excited for me to wake up in the morning and find out. It was SO SO wonderful. So wonderful. I can't believe they drank formula. That is the first time ever. She is going to try it again tonight, so we will see. They also only drank 2 oz which isn't much. We are trying to wean them off that last night feeding. So, they went down at 6:30, slept till 1:30, drank a 2 oz bottle and slept 'till 5:30. It was so wonderful.

  2. How nice to have someone help you out like that!! And it is such a freeing feeling to know that they will let someone else feed them, besides you! How wonderful to catch up on some much needed rest! Have you ask her to move in with you guys yet?? :)

  3. Ah, sleep. Isn't it wonderful? Just a few more months and I'll be in your position. I hope I keep my sanity with three girls! I'm so glad you had a full night's rest. It's amazing how you can learn to live off little sleep isn't it? Then you get those rare nights and you feel new again.
