I planted a garden! I am
so excited. Ok, maybe it's not exactly a whole garden, but I am thrilled anyway. I have 4 cherry tomato plants, 1 yellow grape tomato plant, 2 red bell pepper plants, 1 green bell pepper, 2 parsley, 2 basil, 2 oregano, and 3 cilantro. I am still trying to find a nursery with some green onions...I use those almost daily, so it would be great to have them readily available on the porch. I had so much fun at the nursery. The people there were really helpful and excited for me. Seeing as I have never done this before, that was wonderful! So, now we will see if I can actually grow anything. We should have tomatoes in May and peppers in June. The spices/herbs I can use now, but people have told me they are tough to keep alive, so we will see. I'll keep you posted!

I LOVE to garden! That was the best thing about living in South Carolina--you could have a garden from March to November. I had one the whole time we lived there and can't wait for the snow to melt so I can start one.
ReplyDeleteI'm really proud of you for having a garden. I can't wait to come and try some of your nummy vegies
ReplyDeleteCOOL! I am going to try again this year...we always have things that don't turn out. We are learning! Our biggest problem is getting the watering figured out! Yours is looking great!
ReplyDeleteI am jealous of your garden- I can't start mine until end of may- I won't have tom's until August- boo hoo. Plant more green onions than you think - I ran out in like two weeks. Get some Cilantro seeds and plant every two weeks- they come up easy- the plant goes to seed so fast you only get fresh cilantro from one plant for like a week. Good luck :)
