So this is our new addiction. We play this game almost once a night, sometimes more often. My mom gave it to us as a Christmas present and it has been wonderful! Cory and I are pretty competitive with each other, so it has made for some interesting (but mostly fun) evenings. I love games that are a good mix of chance/luck and strategy/intelligence. I hate games that swing too far to either side. For example, Trivial Pursuit...yeah, I'm just not smart enough for that game, or scrabble, nope can't play that either. On the other hand, I get super frustrated by games like Uno...just too much left to chance. This game has the perfect mix. We love it and highly recommend it to all of you!

  1. Misty,

I you might try to find Wizard (card game) I got it for Marc for Christmas and he got it for me. We love it and you might like it, too.

  2. I love that game. When I go to bed after playing it I lay there and think about what I would do next time :-)

  3. We'll have to try it. We both love to play games, especially games that you can play with just two people.

  5. Thanks! We will have to get that game. Our family is getting big into games - the girls love to play with us.

  6. When we first got that game we played it almost 3 times or more a week. Wait until you get into cities and knights, nothing like being able to attach the other players. :) When I sell it at the hobby shop I typically give a word of warning, "can lead to major family fights". Nothing like going to bad mad because nobody would trade you that wood for sheep.

Like Juliana said, one of the best games to move from settlers is Ticket to Ride. Not as much thinking.

  9. I love that game! Cory always wanted to play board games all day on P-days. Wait, we cleaned, did laundry, got groceries on our bikes in plastic rain suits, wrote letters, ran errands and then we played . . . er tracted.
