Grocery Shopping Anyone?

Funny....I used to HATE going grocery shopping. Now...I actually look forward to it. Odd b/c most people would probably assume the opposite considering the fact that I now take two infants along. However, it offers a most welcome opportunity to get out of the house. And (knock on wood) they boys always do really well...they actually seem to be happier there than at home.

Yes, I asked some random person (a really nice British lady actually) to take my picture at the store. Thing is, I get stopped 5, 6, 7 or more times EVERY time I go out with the boys. People ask funny/sometimes personal questions too:

Are they twins? Are they both yours? Are they identical? Do you love them both the same? Who cries more? Do you breastfeed? You should formula feed. Do you have plugged ducts in your breasts from feeding them? Why aren't their names more similar? How old are they? Do twins run in your family? Do they like each other? They sure are big! Do you think they are too big? How much weight did you gain when you were pregnant? You look like you could use a bit more sleep. And on and on and on and on...... but the best was the following:

18 yr old girl: Are they twins?
me: Yep.
18 yr old girl: How far apart are they?
me: 14 minutes
18 yr old girl: Oh, I thought they were real twins.
me: They are.
18 yr old girl: Yeah, but not really....I mean they are pretty far apart.

Yeah, pretty funny. So, today I decided to put one of those lucky folks who stopped me to work and have them take a picture so I can one day show Micah and Noah what it was like to shop with them.

  1. What a fun post! I was always a little taken back by how STUPID some people could be concerning twins.. I used to get chased by old women in Costco that wanted a closer look at my 'blessings' :-)

  4. This cracked me up!You are a much braver twin mommy than I... I REQUIRE that Brady accompany me, and even then, we only go if they are sleeping! :) BTW, I still love your haircut!

  5. I'm jealous. I wish I loved to do grocery shopping. Too bad we have like 50+ years left of grocery shopping to do. Boy, that sounds depressing.
